This tree was down in minutes after i took this photo.... This was a very old coconut tree the house behind ours.. it was about to fall and so they decided to cut it themselves... the people who had come there to cut the tree said they had a practice... they used to show arathi to the tree before they cut... this is supposed to be an old custom among the tree cutters it seems... my dad told an alternative... why not plant one tree near the place where a tree is going to be cut... this will grow to take the previous trees place.... and thereby protect the environment... will they follow or not is the question...
